In 1978, while camping at Lakewood Camping Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC, Earnest L. Smith needed water for cleaning camping utensils. He went to the campsite spigot and filled a bowl, but wasn’t able to turn the water off because both hands were needed to hold the bowl. After spilling the water all over his shoes, he immediately thought, “There has to be a better way to do this!” As a result of this experience, the FAUCET AWAY FROM HOME was invented.
